Joanne Corwin, MSE, DSII, is the Director of the Early Intervention and Involvement Department at the New Mexico School for the Deaf. She has a master’s degree in education and is a certified Developmental Specialist III through New Mexico’s Department of Health. She has worked for NMSD’s early intervention program for 29 years, 6 years as a contractor and 23 years as a full-time employee. Ms. Corwin has 4 children. Her oldest daughter, who is now an adult, is Deaf. Ms. Corwin credits much of her daughter’s success in life to the early intervention services their family received so many years ago, making this work near and dear to her heart.
